Just taking it all in

So, yes, I have been a slacker with my blog, so I thought I would post an overall summary of what I've been up to -

In my 'free time', we spent a long weekend for the 4th of July in NY enjoying time with my niece visiting from Utah, my brother and his family as well as my parents where we went bike riding, kayaking and shopping. As a result, I came home with a broken rib. I have resolved that I am just an accident-prone person. When bike riding, we rode through trails that were muddy and tracked through by horses, so you can imaging how wonderful and smooth it was. So I literally got stuck in the mud and fell over onto a large log. But I got up kept going! Yes, I'm a dork.

I started teaching swimming lessons at one of the community pools in the area. I am teaching ages 3-7 from beginner to advanced. I've really been enjoy it. The biggest bonus is it's an outdoor pool ... I have not been this tan since we lived in Vegas!

Beth then brought the kids down from Boston to take my niece from Utah on a tour of Maryland. We spent a day at Port Discovery in Baltimore. I would recommend it, the kids LOVED it! And later went swimming. We also spent a day touring DC where we took the Metro downtown and walked the Mall. Ethan was an excellent tour guide as he carried the Metro map around as our guide to the Mall sites. He's an adorable 2 yr old. We also shopped the street vendors where my niece got her first Kate Spade nock-off. We then showed her the pampered life of getting pedicures, eating at the Cheesecake factory, and sitting around the fire pit making smores. We really enjoyed spending with time her and Beth and the kids!

I have also been continuing my training for the half marathon in October. My incentive ... hmmm ... I think I'm just insane. Tomorrow is 7 miles. If it wasn't for my support team, I don't think I'd be doing this ... so thank you Maren, Jim, Maddie, Brenda, and let's not forget, Beth, who I keep dragging into these crazy things! :)

Can't wait until we have selected our next triathlon! Yes, I must be crazy!

I hope you went to the butcher and didn't get in some kind of bizarre car accident with a cow that almost made it? You really do need to post. Soon.
