Rocky Gap Triathlon

(Harris, Rebecca, David, Maddie, Mike, Rebeccah, Brenda, Kyle)

So Mike did his first Triathlon Saturday and did a GREAT job!

This was a perfect triathlon for a first timer as it was a bit shorter than a sprint - it was a 1/4 mile swim, 8 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run - and very hilly!

The weather was perfect, the water was 70-75 degrees and the course was awesome. Mike never gave up, he biked and ran the entire time!

Harris giving Mike a helpful hand (aren't they cute)

Is it just me, or is this girl barefoot?!

(My number was falling off so I had to tuck it in - I know, looks pretty doesn't it.)

Women started 5 minutes after the men - so I'm pretty pleased with my time.

We've already signed up for our next one (July and September ones).

Another Weekend in Boston

We spent a wonderful weekend in Boston visiting with my brother and his extended family for the blessing of baby Sarah. Not only were my parents there, but Bethany's parents and sister, Stephanie, with brood in tow as well. It was so nice to see Beth's parents and sister again. Her mother is so sweet and her sister is a crack up!

I give Steph credit, she drove out from Buffalo by herself with 5 children as her husband was not able to come. They range from ages 11 to 2. This girl has great patience, but all in all, her kids are great! We had 8 kids in all - not counting Sarah.

We enjoyed soccer games, had some great barbacue in Boston, played Rock Band, celebrated Beth's birthday, and wrestled with the kids. Unfortunately, I wrestled a little too much and pulled a ligament in my back. OUCH! I guess I shouldn't play airplane with a 10 year old. I am doing my best to let it rest as I start speed training tomorrow night. This will require a lot of Advil!

Speed training, yeah, just a little nervous as to what this will entail. They say the slower runners are to keep to the inside track - what about the snails?
